Our final wedding story of 2017 was a special Glencoe elopement. Just 3 days before Christmas, we spent the day with Jane + Aaron who’d travelled from Australia to elope in Scotland.

A thick layer of mist covered much of the area when we arrived that morning. Thankfully it cleared just in time to ensure that this sweet couple would have a ceremony with a view. The idyllic setting of Glencoe House, with its stunning views across Loch Leven, helped create a sense of total serenity as Jane + Aaron made their final preparations before becoming husband and wife.

After a short but very sweet ceremony, we went for an adventure in this awe-inspiring landscape. The returning mist seemed to follow us as we ventured along the winding Glen Etive road. It caressed the rolling hills before descending onto the road itself. Our favourite thing about photographing a Glencoe elopement is how a place you’ve visited countless times can transform so dramatically… One of the few good things about our unpredictable Scottish weather!

As the sun briefly burned its way through the mountains and mist, we captured some final moments with Jane + Aaron. By now, these troopers had soaked up everything the elements could throw at them. So we decided to deliver them back to the warmth of Glencoe House and say our goodbyes. We can’t thank these guys enough for having us as part of their special day. Perhaps more importantly, we’re in awe of them for braving the Scottish Winter with smiles on their faces! It was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible year.
