As photographers, one of the most inspiring – and sometimes challenging – aspects of capturing an Isle of Skye wedding or elopement story is that no matter how many times we visit this incredible part of Scotland, we never know what to expect… On this day back in June, we had weather befitting our Tennesseean couple – the amazing Fallon + Zach.

These two decided that a big wedding back home wasn’t for them, so eloping on the magical Misty Isle was the perfect alternative. It was a hot, humid and hazy day on Skye, and after preparations in the wonderfully serene Coruisk House in Elgol, we took the short trip down to the harbour, hopped on a boat and glided across the still water, through the mist and into the heart of the Cuillin mountains.

Time seemed to stand still as Fallon + Zach shared their beautiful, emotional vows on Loch Coruisk. We’ll never forget how truly happy the couple were in this moment, the look of sheer adoration in Zach’s eyes, or Fallon’s absolutely contagious smile.

After the ceremony, we spent the rest of the day exploring more of Skye together. We were so totally in love with Fallon’s outfit – from head to toe, she completely matched her surroundings; and with such a natural, genuine connection, the two were so effortless in front of our cameras that it made our job super easy!

Once we’d tired ourselves out chasing wild sheep (Fallon) or getting so lost that we almost drove off a cliff (David, via Martyna’s directions) it was time to drop the guys back at Coruisk House for a well-deserved wedding dinner and say our goodbyes.

As the sun set on this highland adventure, we were left thinking of the words of Lesley, the awesome celebrant, who summed the day up perfectly: “Fallon and Zach might have travelled from America, but they look like they belong to Skye.”
