when Natalia and Adam got in touch to tell us about their wedding plans, we knew instantly that this would be a day to remember. Natalia had described the couple’s passion for hiking and exploring Scotland – their adopted homeland – so it made perfect sense that they would forego a big, traditional wedding and be married in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, in an intimate ceremony with only their parents in attendance.
The entire West Coast was basked in warm Winter sun when we arrived that morning. So, after some preparations, we started our day together with a walk down to the white sands of Morar, where Natalia and Adam shared a quiet moment and readied themselves for the day ahead.
the ceremony was held in the stunning Glenfinnan Church, overlooking Loch Shiel. as the sun shone in through the stained glass windows, the serene, peaceful atmosphere was abruptly changed when the church musician accidentally played Natalia down the aisle with a disco beat from his keyboard… we’ll never forget looking around at the confused faces as everyone tried their best not to laugh. it was in stark contrast to the beautiful, emotional ceremony that was to follow.
after exploring more of the Glenfinnan area, it was off to the classic setting of the Inverlochy Castle hotel for afternoon tea and an evening meal. the old-worldly elegance of the hotel and its roaring log fire was the perfect place to end the day.
a wedding we will remember for a long, long time and a place we can’t wait to revisit. thank you Natalia and Adam for letting us be part of your day.
